Well, this one will probably make you feel very, very icky.
Frederick Berry, 69, is a former Republican candidate for the Missouri House of Representatives and the current chairman of the Columbia Pachyderm club. Last week, he was marching in the Missouri homecoming parade, behind the Delta Gamma sorority. He then tweeted this:
What is a VNB? Very nice butt.
All together now: EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Holy crap, that is creepy and awful. And seriously, who tweets that?
The story earned coverage on local, and then national news. Missouri College Democrats slammed Berry for the tweet, calling for him to resign as President of the Pachyderm club, for his removal from the Boone County Republican Club and for other Republicans to “denounce the objectifications.”
Berry, however, was unrepentant, and explained the origins of the tweet:
On Saturday morning, Berry said, he and a woman in his group began discussing the sorority members.
“She said, ‘All those girls are wearing these nice sleek pants, but I think in our day we were in better shape,’ ” Berry said. “I said, ‘No, we weren’t. You can tell by the way they are walking. You can see all the muscles there.’”
I’m sure this will stun you, but Berry has previously gotten into trouble for his tweets. In 2012, he tweeted that communism was taught in public schools and that Democrats & college professors want black people to be enslaved or aborted. Berry would blame a hacker for those tweets (so did Anthony Weiner).
This is another case of someone who clearly has terrible judgement tweeting things that they shouldn’t. Now, excuse me, I have to go take a shower.
